Any tips on what to plan on taking or a spot to try out
going at the end of july

Check out Ocracoke island while you are up there. I lived in NC for 18 years and go back evey year to hunt. I mainly fished the sounds and rivers. If you do any inshore fishing, softshell peller crab will catch about anything out there.

motel couple nights here do you use braided line or mono line when surf fishing? I have a nice old penn spinning reel I am getting ready to go
