Saw this on the Strike King Pro Fishing Journal. Orange handle that the landing net deploys and restows with push of a button. If you have one of these, do you like it? Would the 52" or 72" be better for bass fishing? I don't like tripping over my net that i have now.

The hiber net doesn't deploy with the push of a button unless they have changed something. You have to slide the handle to open it. I love mine but I have had it since before frabill started making them. The short one is plenty long.

I have one. Doesn't deploy with a press of a button. You slide the handle to deploy the net. I like it. The Frabill version is a little cranky compared to the old Hibernet. The net has a tendency to bind up when you are pulling it in.

Thanks guys. I just got a note from Frabill stating that the net is not treble hook/crankbait friendly as it would not stow if it were rubber coated. Makes me wonder if this is the net for me because most of the time when I have a fish on a crankbait, i would prefer a net to avoid get hooked by a thrashing fish. Thoughts?

So what's the best net for netting fish on crankbaits? I've just been cutting them out of my old net everytime and replacing the cheap [censored] net every few months.

I bought one, then returned it. I like the idea of easy storage (rod locker or deck) however, I fish by myself alot and if the net is retracted, there is no way you can deploy it while fighting a fish. Ok, so I can leave it deployed the whole time, but it kind of defeats the idea of easy storage. I went back to the medium size, rubber net, that the handle slides up into the net. This one fits in the front storage department and works just fine (less expensive too).

My cousin has one that he leaves on my boat. I like it over all however if your fishing by yourself, like Tucson said, it's impossible to deploy by yourself. And yes it does catch your crank baits pretty good.

Absolutely love mine. As far as fishing by yourself I have been thinking of a way to attach something to the end of the handle that you could stand on while you use your free hand to deploty it.

If it's the same net that's got the triangular design... I hated it. Tried two different models, both with the that type of design and for some reason, I just prefer a net that's got a straight frame at the bottom with slightly curved ends like most of the "standard" nets out there.

I like the net - I purchased one before Frabil started making it. I did attach a piece of leather to the end to step on so that I could extend the net with 1 hand.
