Graphed some fish on a ledge in a tournament yesterday. Ledge was 12 ft on top, 22 ft on the bottom. Fish were suspended 3-6 ft off the bottom on the deep side. Had one bump my crankbait and not hook up, then jump as if to throw the bait. Fish was a bass about 3.5#. I fished those same silly fish for an hour and a half. Got only one bite on a dropshot senko, and missed it. The fish were clearly there, and clearly not biting. Tried a worm, both TX and Carolina, switching crank colors, and longlining the crank to get it down a little further.

Does anything at all work in that situation? I could have downsized further and put a tiny fluke on the dropshot, but that's about the only thing I've thought of since then.

I've learned that sometimes they just don't bite.

Sometimes if you can get right over them with a small jigging spoon and work it real slow with short twitchy hops.

I've had a rough summer season too. I can watch em on the graph or sliding through the grass 15 feet away and can't buy a bite the last two trips out.

+ 1 for the snorkeling gear and spear gun. But I'd most likely go with a spoon.

I was fishing the same tourny and I also sit on a ledge for 6 or so hours, there were fish stacked all up and down the ledge I had 6 or 7 bites all day only got 3 to boat. I was crig and several were biting the tail off of worm. I am sure 2 million Jet fleas didnt help had one run over my marker bouy.

From my pre fishing the thing I wish I would have tried that was posted on here later in the week and worked. Big bait with a smaller bullet weight. Hags is what I would have used if I had thought about it. I think the bulkily slow sinker may have been the ticket.

I missed the tournament...booo

Boatless for minute

I saw you out there, grumpy. You had all kinds of jet skis, ski boats, inner tubes, etc. all up in your business. I figured you must have had some fish out there to stick with it so long. What kind of weight did you end up with?

We were in the blue skeeter that came in and fished the ledge closer to the shore a couple of different times from about 11:00 on.
