I am overly outspoken about buying USA made products on this forum and I have to admit that I have previously spoken before giving other companies a chance. For my birthday my parents bought me a TFO TiCrx 8wt. I had always told people to keep saving and buy American made...
I took the rod out the other afternoon and have not been able to get my foot out of my mouth. While I am all about supporting US products these rods are great. It is affordable and casts and feels just as good as my Sage rods do.
So I sit here a hypocrite and humbled, and my apologies go out to those I have offended or tried to steer away from companies like TFO. They produce quality goods that perform and are affordable.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Ryan

I'll jump in here and say that I know from personal experience it can be extremely difficult to admit you made a mistake. Good on ya for having the heart to do so.
There are enough of us, at enough different levels of income, with diverse enough interests to enjoy a lot of what the industry offers us. That point where the diminishing returns curve turns flat is a different intercept for all of us.
Thanks for being man enough to admit your mistake. It's something to be proud of.

not a thing wrong with admitting you're a person that can change his mind; its dangerous when a person knows everything-p-

TFO makes a great product. Yes it would be nice if the stuff was US made, but it's not. If it were they'd charge Sage prices for the stuff and we really don't need another whippy stick company in the astronomical price range. So I say thanks for being a man. Good on ya.

Good call, don't sweat it too much. I was wrong once last year too.

Yeah, it is pretty difficult to buy American actually. And the last time I was in the TFO Dallas warehouse, they had plenty of Americans working there. I am definitely with you on this one.
I threw a Hardy Sintrix Proaxis at the Tailwaters anniversary party and fell in love with it, got all my pro forms to make the buy ... Come to find out this 700.+ rod is made in ... Korea. Hmmm, buy a fly rod from an English company that has outsourced to Korea? Call me a traitor, but that rod is extra sweet.
