5k miles....that sounds about right...unfortunately in my case age has had nothing to do with it.

I went through 2 sets on the opens last year, switched to carlisle and been better

Yes its under my awning on the north side, so sun wasn't a factor. I think I got my monies worth... Probably will be going with the carlisle, our back with Marathons.

I just noticed the info in your profile and if I had to guess your not having to trailer very far at all to get to where you put in, Sam or Bend is just a stones throw from where you live.

I run the Marathons too, only difference is I put roughly 400 miles a week on mine going back and fourth from Humble to Zavala. Much like outboards, the hardest thing on tires is not useing them. It prolly sounds strange but even tho I put more miles on mine than you do, your harder on your tires by not trailering as much. Wish I had your problem now, I still have a few mor years before I can make the move. Good luck.

That is pretty normal view of Goodyear Marathons, every one I ever had looked like that after a while. b

RV folks see a lot of that along with various trailer damage .

Wow, looks like all my marathons after 2 years. Worst tire on the market imo. They did not last for the money.

I have been using the prime well (Firestone's brand) passenger tire and they have been good. I'm on my second set. Got about 40k off of the last set and could have gotten more but didnt want to chance it. I have also heard that triangle is a great tire.

Fitter2259, I'm pretty close to both... I have been here my entire life and Memorial Day weekend was my very first time to fish Toledo.... Wish i would have started fishing it earlier in life.. Its only about 20 miles further to the boat ramp on Toledo than Rayburn. I gripe about living 30 miles from Rayburn. I guess I could be in your shoes and live nearly 100 miles. I probably wouldn't fish Rayburn near as much.
