if it broke at the knot, i kinda hate to say it but it ain't the arrow it's the indian. you can land any bass on 14 lb big game. but you either need to practice your knot or learn a stronger one, my suggestion would be the homer circle knot, they have a diagram of how how to tie it on knot wars, check it out, learn it, lube it, and cinch it, you'll be alright.

I got broke off on Fork this past weekend in open water. Ripped my whole c-rig off like it was childs play. Didn't wrap me around anything either, just slammed it and I set the hook, went to reel in and broke off before I could even start. Hate that feeling but I caught a 7lber before that so that helped ease the pain!

That is the 5th time I have been broke off on what I know was a good fish on lake fork.

That's an awfully bad feeling but it happens to all of us at one time or another. I might jump up to 20lb test as has been mentioned. Good luck.

Boss a c rig is worlds worst about line abrasion. At the weight. Doesn't help that some times them fishes eat the weight. I have had a five lber halfway to the boat and watch him come up and spit the weight at me. Never even touched the plastic. But you gotta check the area near the swivel alot that set of beads and weight can make a bad spot in a hurry.

I've always had great success on the Zoom 6" Lizard in Junebug with Chartreuse tail.

Jig fishing isn't easy on mono either - retie often or you'll cry on your way home!
