For me it was a slow day, plenty of casting practice. I did find fish on tank dams 18' and deeper. All off of points on the main lake. One hook up, but lost it. On a CR. I threw everything I had.

25 to45 ft of water with tops of trees sticking out. They are suspending in the limbs. Weightless worm or split shot rig.
Cast lock down and let it fall through the limbs. Works every year in the Dog days. Good casting !

We hit a handful of proven deep water spots last weekend and managed two 4's.

i have always had hit or miss luck on the night of the full moon... the two days before and two days after seem to be the best for me, maybe coincidental idk

yea a lot of deep spots have been absolutley hammered. Whats worse is that for the first time this year I have seen people come idling by you when you are fishing in the middle of the lake and mark a way point. I have had people troll up on my bouy in the middle of the lake. I have seen people close to me fish what I was fishing when I left. Its as bed as ever out there and probably going to just get worse. Until this year I dont think i had ever had to say antyhing to someone getting to close.

The power poles are potlicker magnets. Unfortunately so are yellow boats.

Guess we're just gonna have to find new holes eventually. One good thing about the main lake stuff is that its pretty small and can be technical. If a potlicker doesn't setup on it just right, he won't catch anything. BTW, Brad took care of me on my motor. It was pretty much a rebuild and he saved me 2 grand off the estimate from Plano Marine.

Good deal. Glad he got you fixed up brother.
