I used to fish Manns Augertail works when I was younger, and always caught good bass on them.
I finally depleted my stock, and am having trouble getting my hands on some. The Manns website has them but only in a couple colors.
Any TFF'ers know SA site I can find them at??
I want to try this great bait on a shakeyhead...I used to only fish them t-rig or wacky...but this bait has so much more potential if only I could get my hands on some!

Caught a lot of bass on them 25 years ago. When it comes to soft plastics, there are few baits that caught fish in days gone by that wont catch fish now. The deal is that folks have a tendency to fish the newest, and hottest lures, and baits. Bait companies are always developing new baits hoping that one will become hot and boost sales. Back in the late 70s and early 80s I caught a lot of bass on Manns Swimming Tail grub. Im sure that if they still made this bait I could catch fish on them today. The same is true for my beloved Manns six inch worms in Mint, and Marmalade. TFP

I agree. My thought on the topic of using the old style baits is that most of the fish you are catching now weren't even alive 5-6 yrs ago. Some of the bigger fish might be but the majority of those 4 lb and less bass sure weren't. So, in essence, in the eyes of the bass, those old baits are actually new baits.
