Holy cow those are nice fish. Is that still the Bosque river? Any public put ins on the river? I know you use your lease but are they places where the general public can get in and wade?

Yeah, these were in the 25# range I believe. Yes in regards to both questions. However, access is pretty limited.

They don't fight as well as a similar sized carp, however these gave me a pretty decent tussle. They seem to fight better when they're in shallow water like I'm fishing. Not much stamina to them, though. The real challenge is getting them to eat a fly. I've been using a fly I tied to resemble a damselfly nymph.
I'm using a TFO rod, so I'll be back in business soon. Just upset me that I let myself get in a position where the fish could do that. Never broke a flyrod before, even when I use to live in Florida and chase the likes of tarpon and sharks.

My 8 wt. BVK broke and I shipped it from Houston on a Friday and had the replacement on the following Thursday. Top notch. ^&*% is going to happen to all products, I think the real measure of the company is how they handle it and TFO seems to get it right.

i've caught alot of buffalo and none of them have fought worth a flip. just wondering if those bigger fish put up any better of a fight then the 5-10lbers ive caught. They seem to fight a lot better when the water is cooler. Winter, early spring etc. I've caught a couple 20's in winter that didn't know when to quit!

Buffalo fight awesome if its overcast or in the early morning or evening when the sun isn't high, if you look at there eyes they are like black marbles and they see, to get confused if that makes sense when its to bright out

I believe that how hard they fish greatly depends on the swim. One of my hardest fighting fish was a Buffalo at White Rock. All the Buffs I have caugh at lewisville were like pulling in dead weight.
I tend to over think fishing. Please help me. When I am over complicating something please kick me in the face. Hard.

Hehe, thanks. I've actually been kinda slacking off somewhat. I've been sleeping in & quitting early. Plus flyfishing adds more of a challenge.
