Meredith is about dried up. You have Ute over in NM or drive 200 south to Alan Henry. I've met a few Amarillo anglers at Hubbard Creek.Ouch !!!!
Catch em, kiss em, let em go

Yep Meredith 90 something feet low.....Alan Henry southeast of Amarillo down by Post. Amarillo from Lufkin? I'm originally from Dalhart & that area. Cold in the winter & sweltering in the summer..... But folks up that way are friendly & cool

The panhandle life is nice and much slower. I grew up there and graduated from West Texas A&M in Canyon, just south of Amarillo.
I made the move to DFW two years ago for work. After I got here, I realized just how awesome it is to be only 20 minutes from a lake. If I'm in town, I can fish whenever I want without having to worry about a 2 hour round trip drive to the closest fishing hole.
The only two things I disliked about living there included the nasty winters and the lack of fishable water. But the people are great, the pace of life is slow, and the flatlands are beautiful if you take a minute to enjoy them. Good luck on your move.

When I lived in Amarillo, I fished many of the local parks. Lake Greenbelt was a nice lake to fish back then, but I don't know what condition it is in now. There is Lake McKenzie near Tulia. Meredith as low as it is, still has decent fishing for walleye, but I don't think there is a usable boat ramp. Tanglewood is a private lake, you can't fish it unless you are a guest of a property owner.
Waiting on Bob Davis' next selfie

Great place to buy a used boat. Trailer will be wore out but the boat will have very few hours.
Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional!
