Mistake 1, took 3 grandchildren by myself out to catch sandbass. Mistake 2, should have take 4 more adults. Mistake 3, didn't know when to quit. We left Harbor Bay singing a song, Drop your slab to the bottom, then reeeeel it up! Drop your slab to the bottom, reeeel it up. That was at 3 pm. Ran into the gigantus wave of sandbass out beyond the bridge. It was a circus. I had with me grandson Jake the Snake (the very one who came with me to the hybrid meeting this past week). Granddaughter Karma the "Kat", and younger grandaughter Lilly the silly. We caught quads, triples, doubles, fish eating other fish, fish being ate by birds, we would snag on each other and wind up with three fish. Did I say it was a circus? Finally I had to stop fishing, just to take fish off and keep everything smoothly (that was a joke). I saw a young man with a couple of his kids, waved at them to come over and help.by 5:30 we were whipped by the fish. Cut up,fish blood everywhere, it looked like a war zone and we left with fish biting. All fish caught on fiesta slabs, spoons, and godfathers all by Moe. The depth didn't matter.

Kudos for the quality time with the grandkids. They will repeat that story forever. Well done BT.

Also, we released all fish. I love frying and eating fish, but trying to teach the grandkids about releasing fish when possible. Our lake is such an incredible resource. I feel fortunate to live so close to the lake (a golf cart ride away)! I am really excited about our hybrid program.

Good day Blue Tuna, congrats on finding the herd. I bet even though you were wore out, you would do it again, and again.

A herd is a good way to describe it. Never had sandbass stay put in such a small area biting the whole time.

Those little ones will remember this forever. Great memories made on the water. Great report.

Any those kiddos will forever tell the story of the day Grandpa took them to catch hundreds of fish.

Great job!

After talking to you on the phone just now I had to come read this! I totally got a visual. Love the song singing. Like I mentioned it's on now. They will be hooked for life. Plus spending time with you is the icing on the cake for them! Awesome.....

It was cool, we sang it all the way to the bridge. By the time we hit the wave of sandbass everyone was ready to rock and roll.
