I was down at the pond the other day and the bluegill looked like they had just moved off of there beds I caught several including this one that was all lit up with color! I was wondering if his coloration had to do with the spawn?

that is called a longear sunfish. love those little colorful guys!

That would be a longear sunfish. The males look like that year round. Nice one!
