Had a 5 person trip Sunday morning (Mom didnt want to be in picture) Actually i was booked for morning and afternoon, I informed both partys that the sandies had been way slow for the last couple weeks. Afternoon trip decided to hold off. Action still not perfect, but its turning around. Spent first couple hours checking spot after spot, Same as last week, catch a couple here and there and then nothing for a while. About 9:30, against my beliefs, i set up the "hellpet" rig. Cruised down a southern ridge 13/17 FOW. Picked up a couple decent fish, turned around same spot a couple more. Put the rig up, anchor locked and caught around 30 sandies off that spot, then they moved on. Searched a little while, ended up putting the "hellpet" back out, trolled about 100 yards, then thats all it took, set up on anchor lock again, finished the day right there with their limit within 50 yard circle. Worked out pretty good, they were having a fish fry Mixed box full of 11" (came early) and majority average 13" with a few going 15" All Fish were caught on Ol'e ugly (gold/silver) and chartruese, with the exception of 10/12 coming on the "hellpet", only 3 fish total caught on a fly. 15 FOW average on the southern ridge.

Bout time for them suckers to get with the program. Johnny I second that one man! The last two weeks have been pretty tough. I did not pull out the hellpet though. Maybe I should have? Nice job.

Kerry, you know hellpet is Johnnys favorite tool. Nice going. I was stuck at work all weekend and Sunday morning on the way in thinking what a great day to be fishing with the overcast.

what is a hell pet??? and how is it fished? picture if you have one. I dont use it any more than i have to, but sometimes when they are spread out, it makes it easier to find. Once you locate them, you can put it up and just slab em up In the post below, a couple pictures down J.V. explains it real good. http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbt...TRI#Post7533137

I was out there on Saturday and could not get anything to bite. I hope things turn around soon. Sunday wasn't easy per say, had to work a little. Didn't just go out and pound them. Just got on a good school later in the morning that didn't scatter very quickly like they have been past couple weeks. Really wasn't an early bite, mid morning before we got anything going consistant.
