Fishing for whiskers tomorrow night. I have prepared baits, livers, and shrimp. All old standbys. I also have some bluegill in the freezer that I scaled and gutted for frying. Would they be good used as cutbait? And...should I head to riprap? flats? I'm open to suggetions.

If you can't get some shad the Bluegill filets will work better than the other stuff if your drifting for blues. As long as theres skin on them so the hook dosen't pull thru. If you could get your hands on some dead red blood spray to put on them they would work even better.

Look for fish in 20 / 25 feet of water.

I would also suggest not using frozen bait if at all possible. Fresh cut bait imo has always worked better. Using cut bait within 24 hours of the killing the fish is prime time to use the baits typically. Good luck fishing!

Nothing beats a good tub of Big Marvs. That works great on the Channels. Cut Shad, live sunfish, etc, will work on the Flat heads and Blues.

Cut perch isn't the best bait even when fresh. I would skip on that. Sure Shot punch bait is great for channels but you either have to order it off the internet or get in Denton or Decatur. Your best bet would probably be to get you a cast net and head to a boat ramp or dock and get you some shad. Just don't try to throw it at the rip rap.
