I have a 96 115 johnson v4 the gas is good and new plugs rebuild on all carbs new gas filter. Took it out and still doing the same thing first off the trailer and it runs out fine get to where i'm fishing and may be there a hour or longer and try to crank it and its starts but dies. this goes on for a while and if it idles long enough to put it in gear and throtle up it dies when finnily get it going it runs great opened up. The oil injection has been disconnected. any ideas this is gettting old.

check for air leaks in fuel lines. if you hold in on the key does it run better? if so then check fuel pump.
first thing I would do is run a can of seafoam in about 5 gals of mix, on the muffs or lake let it idle (hold key in if need be) for a few mins to get the seafoam in the carbs then idle it up a little.
after about 15 mins let it sit for a couple hrs then go to the lake and run the peedoodle out of it till almost all the fuel/seafoam mix is gone.
this should clean up any gunk in the carbs and do a minor decarb on it.

my 175 johnson did the same thing and it was the fuel lines leaking air from a bad connection.

What did you do on the fuel pump.

nothing has been done to the fuel pump all 4 carbs have been rebuilt the tech ran it on the lake and said it was running great i took it out the next day and it ran out from the marina great but after it had been off for a hour or more it would crank and die did that for a while and when finnily got it to run and throtle up it would run great till i shut it off and fished for a while and then the same thing again

the checkball in the fuel line is leaking , try a new ball.
