 Best hook type for jug lines vs rod & reel?

What hook do you guys prefer for jug lines? I've always used just plain old Eagle Claw trot line hooks. They are simple long shanked limerick hooks, but I used them because they are ss and pretty cheap for a box of 50.
I know most use circle hooks for rod & reel catfishing, so...
What are the best options for each, and why?

Mustad . I like big J hook on jugs with big chunks of cut bait. Circle work good but they hard to get out of the cats mouth when you got more fish on the line. Big hooks big bait but i'm not looking for 12 inch Channel cats. I like 3 to 15 lb blues.I release the bigger fish.

We started using 8/0 or 10/0 Gama Octopus hooks with live bait. They are close in appearance to a j-hook. They seem to hold onto a bigger fish better.

in the winter I use 16/0 and 20/0. it keeps little fish off and big ones on. ive had 14/0 straightend out

^^^^^really! Might wanna buy the 28/0 circle that mustad made for those shark wrangler guys.....i think they are only 100$ each!
it's the crapy days that make the good days that much better!!!
