I was in Arkansas for vacation and fished a small lake on top of Petit Jean Mountain. I was fishing for bass and caught this guy. It had a blue gill with a little red too but doesn't show in the pictures. Is it a red ear?

a real dark warmouth , the ones i used to catch years ago in the six flags pond were very dark like that ......the warmouth i catch around lake proctor and the leon are real light .....sometimes they turn into pretty nice chunks .....and it seems to me i only catch them basically in the spring ....i was trying to remember and that thought crossed my mind .....the others i have caught around the metroplex area have been in between ...i will say i think thats about the darkest i have seen , pretty cool pattern

They are really cool in an aquarium. Feed em small minnows and grasshoppers. They are voracious. Fun to watch.
