Tommy Martin on Toledo Bend in 1977. Man the fishing was good. We were worm fishing somewhere midlake and he kept telling me to hold on to my rod tighter. First fish that hit that big worm jerked my new 5000C and Lews Speed stick out of my hands. I went in for it and got it. He is a great guy and was a good teacher?guide.
Retirement best job ever.

Only been out with a guide three times: All 3 on Fork, all 3 with Mr. John Tanner. These all were within the past 3 years. I guess "3" is a recurring theme in my story.
John is a really good man.

John Tanner night trip on fork around 99 or so. Caught two fish all night, but it was a good trip. Back then I was only 15 or so and was NOT a very good fisherman. Hired a redfish guide in Venis (not right cant get it) Louisianna off the keith warren show that was great. Actually got tired of catching reds every cast and left an hour early. It was amazing

Dreabon Joiner on Lake Fork....won the all expense paid trip and i got to pick my guide. He was writing for Honey Hole magazine back then. Very memorable trip. Caught some toads and learned how to fish a jig in brushpiles. Later fished with his brother Hollice for several trips...also great time. Good memories fromt the Joiner brothers.

Harold Allen, Holly Park Marina, Toledo Bend, early 70s, gold Ray Craft with a monster 120 HP Chysler. Bet we were doing 50 mph!!!
Fished with Billy Bass at Lake O The Pines mid 70s while working as one of his sales reps during college. Still have a sample ring with all colors of his baits that have never been fished. havent thought about em in a while, maybe need to fish one for old times sake and a nod to Billy.
