I was trying to bass fish today, and I tossed a spinnerbait, and this channel cat (about 22-24 in, didnt have measuring tape) decided to take the bait instead. I have never caught a catfish on a spinnerbait, has this happened anyone else?

I've caught em on crank baits, spinner baits, plastics, spoons, and rattletraps!! Lol even hauled in a 28 pound flatty Trollin for sandies n hybrids on BP

Last spring in Tower Bay. Throwing in shallow water looking for bass. 7 pound cat hit double willow leaf spinner. Thought I had a monster bass.

Years ago I took my son to the Houston Looting and Plunder Company Bass tournament and caught one like that. For a minute I thought we had won the big bass prize for sure.

you get quite a few on shad lookin ones when sandies are schoolin and you reel it below the school, we've also caught them on crankbaits, bluefleck worms and zaraspooks, they wlll go after a moving target.

i caught 4 in that size range on a bettle spin in the middle of the day about a month ago bream fishing......they are tough on ultralites for sure ......and about 4 years ago i had one about 8 lbs slam a spinnerbait early one morning when i was bass fishin....i thought when he hit i had the biggest bass in that pond on my line ......LOL

Happens often during the spring when they spawn. Some are big enough to bend the spinnerbait hook. I hate it when they slime the line!

I caught an 18 pound Flathead throwing a crawdad colored Roadrunner on Lake Texoma. We were in 4 ft water throwing under flooded willows for bass.

i actually just caught a catfish about that size on a jig like 2 weeks ago.... always a suprise

Caught a couple on Fork two years ago. Sure does make you think you got a good one
