My HDS 10 shuts down when 150 0ptimax starts. What do I need to do to correct this.

Check your battery, may have a bad cell, causing to much draw. I went through the same thing a few weeks ago.

It shuts down due to low voltage. Check the battery.

Mine does the same. Went in and reclean connections where it is wired under the dash. Doing fine for awhile and started doing it again. I have new battery and reads fully charged. I am thinking direct wire to battery just like my front 520 is and does not shut down when I start the engine.

You need a new cranking battery.

Get a series 29 or 31.

New battery time.

Or trickle charger time. I have a 5,7,lss1 and use a 520c for mapping. The 7 and 5 would stay on but the 520 shut off every time I cranked the big motor. I have a near new cranking battery as well. After wiring, cleaning, etc etc, I put the cranking battery on a separate charger for 2 days until it peaked on a 1.5 amp charger AFTER it peaked from my on board charger, has been fine ever since. Couldn't tell you why, I guess the on board was sensing a voltage drop too early and shutting down.

Your not getting enough volts somewhere, You have a bad connection somewhere.
