I have a 60hp 2-stroke Mercury that I need to replace the oil tank which is located under the cowl, The float magnet came loose from the float giving me a low oil level alarm. There is 2 wires from the sensor and (1) oil line at the bottom of the tank and a push/pull vent on top near the cap.
When I install the new tank this weekend, do I need to bleed the oil line to the motor? If so anyone have a quick reference on this procedure. The vent on top of the tank should be closed at all times? Correct?
Or can i just fill the tank with oil, put the cap on tight, close the vent and let her rip. Any answers would be appreciated. What's the purpose of the vent on top?

There should be a screw on the oil pump. Unscrew it a couple of turns until oil comes out. If no air then you are good.
