For all of you Hobie Miragedrive users out there.

Are the Hobie Miragedrive yaks a dry ride. Looking at the drive well and the miragedrive itself was wondering if the interior stays dry during normal usage?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

My outback stays very dry... If I don't go out on 20+ mph winds. smile

Some are going to be very dry rides and some wont. The Pro Angler, and the OutBack are very dry rides. The Adventure sits much lower and is a wet ride. If you are looking to stay totally dry the Pro
Angler is the ticket. The only time I got wet while in the PA was plunging in to 3' waves at Ray Roberts. It was fun...but wet wink

How much water in your Hobie Mirage depends on your weight and which model yak you are using. You can almost always expect to have some water in the drive unit well. I would suggest that you find out for yourself and call me for a demo appointment on the Hobie Mirage of your choice..

As long as I don't get waves over the side I stay pretty dry.

I weigh about 235lbs and in the PA and the Outback the water comes up in the well of the drive unit but doesn't come in to the kayak.

I put a 295lb client in my outback and he was very wet at the end of the day. I put several thousand miles on outbacks and never got wet except for splashes and spray. same with the PA's.

My Revo was a decent but I never really tested it with a big load. I just used it for running down the birds with minimalist tackle. Spinning rod and a couple of silver sprite spoons. that was about 235 lbs including paddler, ice chest and safety gear.

Good luck, Phill

I don't always catch fish, but when I do, I prefer Dos Hybrids

I barely get wet in my Outback. In a matter of fact, I would have to jump in the water to get wet in my Outback
