I have a friend and his son coming down from MI. and they want to go fishing at this time I no longer have a boat. Looking to buy the right used boat. I can either borrow a boat which is a small boat with a 5 hp motor and fish purtis creek or athens. Or rent a boat from the place at lake fork. Have not fished in quite a while and wondering what to do. Any help on where to go and where my friend and his son can catch some fish. Thanks for any and all help.

Won't be that hard. It is June and 100 degrees outside. Not really prime time to go fishing. You will find someone if you look.

If he is a good friend and just wants to fish, I am betting he will give 2 chits what you are fishing out of. Really depends what kind of fishery the other two lakes listed are.

If it's just fishing to kill time then give the Fishery in athens a visit, fun for kids, (Don't know the kids age) Give them a call and see if the fish are biting. Just a thought. Good Luck.
May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

Hire Weldon Kirk and go the Sommerville or Gibbons Creek and catch a boat load of catfish.

I don't think I've ever been out with a guide and come home with your attitude. Fish caught or not. That must have been a bitter disappointment!

That must have been a bitter disappointment! Let us say you go out and catch 10 fish....$350 for the day makes each fish $35 each.....the same at $450 for the day makes $45 per fish. Double the fish and you are still paying nearly $20 per fish. For someone who wants to go out and CATCH....not learn....that is really not a bargain.
