What hook do you use for fishing these. Have been using a 3/0 Gamma with mixed results.

All depends how I'm fishing it and how fast I want it to fall. I will throw it on a 3/0 light wire EWG all way to a 5/0 super line gammy. Overall weightless I like a 4/0 gammy superline for super flukes and a 6/0 EWG for a TLC Falcon Fluke
I can backlash toilet paper.

Same thing ChanceHuiet says, I use a 3/0-5/0 for slight sink rate variance. I also factor in line size changes.

How can you prevent the nose on flukes from tearing out so easy?

Ironman65 My buddies laugh at me but I've grown accustomed to and very comfortable with Mustad power locks EWG 3.4.5/0. After a good hook set u can usually find your fluke in a whacky set up. U will most likely tear your fluke up in the back before you tear up a nose. Now I haven't been fishing long enough to give advice but to me it just tends to save me flukes.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the gammy skipgap hook in a size appropriate for the fluke. They are the best fluke hook IMO.
