This is rediculous, the government agencies in all aspects are getting to think they are the gestopo, and we just take it. Their main arguement for this is that transported fish over 25 miles will kill fish.

If this is the case I guess there would never be any live fish wieghed in at Toledo, Rayburn, Amistad, the Red River, the Louisiana Delta, Atchfalaya basin, etc..

+1000!
Not to mention the water temps should be much cooler up there.

Ridiculous. You gotta know the committee that came up with that rule is comprised entirely of folks who don't fish.

Nice to see the two biggest names in B.A.S.S. came out publicly and slammed the Wisconsin DNR. Hopefully someone in their state house takes a little control of a ridiculous situation.

There is going to be a learning curve in Wisconsin. They just made it where it was possible for a Major Circuit could come in and have a tournament. They will have to get the bugs worked out. This is a start.

If those guys have Wisconsin fishing licenses like everyone else in the state, I simply do not understand how they can be "discriminated" against in this fashion. Also, how do you enforce this? I understand that all of these elite guys are pretty "stand up" fellas and will respect the ruling but really.......who enforces these? Is there a game warden down there who is gonna write a ticket if they cross this imaginary line? A ticket for breaking what law?? Do you really think BASS or Jerry Mckinnis is gonna send watchdogs out to this imaginary line to guard it...From the tone of Jerry's latest article on BASS, I do not think that he and his organization (BASS) will be teaming up with the DNR to enforce this rule.

Lets play out a scenario: KVD crosses the line on final day to catch 20+ lbs of smallies and wins the tournament. BASS DQ's him. KVD sues who???? I know, I know...spare me the "KVD is part of BASS and BASS agrees to abide by the DNR"S boundaries" argument.

This would be like cutting off Sam Rayburn at 147 or T Bend at Pendleton. God help those guys if they get a good N to NE wind coming down that bay. The boundary has eliminated a lot of islands and other small pockets.

If BASS really wanted to give the Wisconsin DNR a slap in the face, they could just have a big fish fry after each day's weigh-in.

Let me tell you, having lived in Chicago and fished regularly in Wisconsin and followed Wisconsin news, this is not a surprise. The absolute worst DNR of any state, and they don't get it and not just on this issue. They are complete morons.

They just legalized culling last year, the Wisconsin DNR is a little behind the times.

Just visited their website out of curiosity......seems they are not too far "behind", especially when it comes to taxing people. Effective July 1st, you must have your atv registered and must have a license plate on it.

Amen.

I find it funny that in one of Wisconsin DNR's publications they even state, and I quote,

Quote:
"In the only simulation that resulted in mortality, we failed to detect increased mortality with increased live well holding time, an expected pattern if length of live well confinement caused bass mortality (Evaluation of the Bass Fishing Tournament Pilot Program 2007)."

This stinks of someone in power who "thinks" something to be true without having any scientific justification. In your first "Science 101" class they tell you, don't do that..

What they should have done is left Wisconsin an went to another fishery and told those fascist to stick it.

Not like they havnt changed locations last minute before (fort gibson). It was also the mystery lake anyways, the anglers were already prepared to have a minimum amount of time to call all contacts and barter for coordinates, lol
