I'm looking to pair up two 10'0 Pro Angler's with an Abu 7000 or 6500 Pro Rocket. I want to get the maximum casting distance but can't get info on which will cast farther.
The 7000's made in China and Pro Rocket in Sweden.
Any info would be much appreciated.

Good Fishing.

I think the 7000 will out cast the 6500 because it has more line capacity, but both will cast well, I use 6500's with 7 1/2' Proanglers and can cast 70 yards pretty well with 2 oz weights

I would stick with the ones made in Sweden!

I would take a tricked out 6500 C3 over a 7000 model any day, to me the 7000 just has a larger spool over the 6500 which is over kill unless you have your casting technique down to the T.

If your looking for pure casting distance then i would stay away from any kind of reel with a level wine! Just my. 02
But i would go with a mildly tricked out 6500 rocket over a 7000i.

Our buddy TurboFred just built a 6500 C3, but he ripped it apart and put 11 bearings in it. He told me he took it down the street and casted endzone to endzone on the high school football field on a 10' casting rod. I think the rod has as much to do with it as the reel. 6500's are good reels all-around, but with the wrong rod it will murder your distance.

I didnt know you could put 11 bearings in a reel designed originally for just 3.

I wouldn't have believed it either, but I saw it with my own two eyeballs. 2 in the spool, 2 in the levelwind, 2 on the cog wheel, 1 anti-reverse and 4 in the handle.

Would it be possible to do the same tweaks to a 6600 C4? Casting end zone to end zone is pretty damn impressive.

Ive got 6 in my hot rod 6500 I just switched to 20 lb test, but im almost positive if i still had 30 on it, i could spool it on a 10ft rod. I can cast off about 70% of the line on ot spooled full with a 4oz weight and bait.

And i dont have good casting technique.
