Been hearing about new spots up north - like Million Dollar Hump and Swingset Point. So, I went north today to find these and check out some other well known spots. It was more of a scouting run but managed to catch 44: 42 whites and 2 yellow bass.

Left dock at 3PM and went straight to Million Dollar Hump. Looked around on it and found concentration of fish in 19 ft water. Caught 24 fish before wind shifted and fish moved. Decided to go find Swingset Point. I believe I found it but no fish there. Went from there to The Tennis Court - nothing there. Next to Enchanted Isle Hump and found large concentration there in 20 ft. Caught 10 quickly to proove they were catchable then went on to next spot - Spillway Hump. Found a good concentration of fish on the north edge of it in 15 ft water. Caught 10 there to ensure they were catchable.

By this time I was overdue back home - so headed south and back at dock at 6:45PM.

Dennis
We were out Friday night and the main lake outside lynn creek cove and carolynn estates was covered in grasshoppers. Havent noticed this in past summers. Did you notice some as well and is it common and we just missed it before? Got back in Lynn creek cove and they were gone. Spent the weekend playing with the kids and didn't get to fish but always appreciate your reports and tips.

The catfish were vacuum sucking the top of the water on roberts, made it to Cedar Creek today, saw quite a few hoppers.
Thanks for the Report Dennis, you seem to stay in em.

I did see the grasshoppers, and they were uniformly scattered over the surface from Crappie Island all the way to Sunken Island. I've seen it before. Something like it happened in 1999. I remember seeing white bass picking them off the top of the water in Merimac Point area. My observation is that most years this does not happen. I think every few years conditions just happen to be right for a bumper crop of grasshoppers.
