Me and my dad used to go to Whitney every Saturday morning for stripes and sandies but that was years ago we always had a blast if we did good or not but things change and I got into inshore fishing and dad had pretty much striped all together I would like to take my to sons to somewhere that it's still good for hybrids and sandbass and maybe get dad back into it I think if I got him out there on fish he'd probably get hooked on it again the question is I've read a lot of topics on this forum but never been on RH and would really like to go one day but I don't even know where the good ramps are much less where hot spots are or what to use and when to throw it need to have a good trip cuase my oldest son is eat up with black bass and crappie and he is good at it but I don't want one bad trip to turn him off of it thanks for any help given

Man that's a great question. This time of year can be hero or zero!

I suggest you maybe go with one of the regular guides on Hubbard to give some info. Otherwise you'll possibly be chasing you're tail. I actually am a regular, but I get lots of inside intel, and it's still a struggle at times to find them.

Get out early and leave early, my suggestions! It was smokin hot today!

Good luck
Mike

hear robertson park off dalrock is good early for top water. also near jetty and halfway down is peanut area is good sometimes. or go out on weekends and follow the boat shows. stay south of i-30. southside dalrock has a couple free ramps.

I don't always catch fish, but when I do, I prefer Dos Hybrids

Call John Varner with JV Guide Service 214-384-5801 or johnvarner@sbcglobal.net . I've been with John probably 10-15 time when we take our clients out and I have learned most everything I know about Ray Hubbard from him.

Definitely get a guide. They will teach you how to be a good fisherman.

Varner is on here....

Bombay....

Doug....

There are a lot of these guys that will save you so much heartache and boat gas.
