Grapevine has been tough for me lately. I went out this morning and tried to find a biter in 20 feet on the points at dove loop. Nothing doing. I've been catching some small bass in the rocks north of twin coves shallow with an occasional larger fish thrown in. I thought they were up on the bank eating the channel cat eggs that were spawning there. I was flipping the visible rocks in 2 to 4 feet of water. Caught 1 small one, Then I felt a tick on my jig, set the hook and pulled in a 5 lb female that was spawning. The bottom half of her tail was gone and still bleeding. Thats the first bass I've caught at grapevine this spring that I can honestly say had been spawning right then. I thought they were done ! I put her back so she could finish up. Hope I didn't upset her too much.
