If you can't hold it by the lip and can't lay it on the ground how are you able to release it, much less photograph it? Would holding with fingers in its gills be better?
Thanks and Gig'em!

That fish is the perfect weight for supper. Keeping a bass from a pond doesn't offend me. Go catch some more, keep them, and enhance the pond.

was this picture taken before you tried to mercifully kill it by hitting it in the head with a rock 3-4 times?

Oh come one boys. I know its not the beat way to handle a fish, but if every fish that was lipped, or laid down died, we'd have ponds and lakes full of floating fish. You boys take it a little far some time.

You boys take it a little far some time. ^^^^^^^+ 1000 I will agree......The ground is no place for a fish that you are going to put back, nevermind the spicies. But I'm calling BS all the way around on the rest of this lip grip subject as well as every thread that came before it on the issue. I never see anyone fussing about Ike, Ashley, Starks (or any other over zealous angler for that matter) hold a fish up for the camera shot by the lip and shake it like its on fire and their trying to put it out. How about weigh in's, anybody seen one of them lately? It just seem like there is alot of selective ragging going on about this. I do agree that the lip is not the best way to handle a fish, particularly a large one but how about some consistancy here or let the matter go altogether. I notice attractive blondes seem to get a pass from you guys on this as well.

What I wanna know is how else are you supposed to hold the fish if not by the lip. You have complete control of the fish so it won't flop out of control and fall to the ground, easy access to remove the hook and your not taking much slime off the fish's body. If any thing it does more damage to your thumb than the fish.
Thanks and Gig'em!
