I have made up my mind that i want an I-pilot, now i am trying to decide between the terrova or the riptide. From what i can tell by looking at minn kota's website, the riptide does not have the US2 like the terrova. I like the idea of having a built in transducer, but i also like the idea of having a trolling motor i can use in saltwater and not have to worry. Keeping that in mind, i have owned my boat since '06 and i have never had it in saltwater..........
Any thoughts? Are there more differences in the two other than US2 and salt? Will the terrova be ok with occasional use in salt?
Thanks, Rickey

I have a terrova with us2 and ipilot. I think it is the best tool on the boat. Deploy and stow is kind of a pain but the positives far outweigh that. You can buy a anode for saltwater use if you ever want to go to the coast.
Retirement best job ever.

The main thing about using your boat in salt water is to rinse everything off good afterwords with fresh water.
