I am thinking about buying a reirement place in Zapata. Could you all point me in the right direction to get some info about living part time in Zapata.
Also any info you all have that spend a bit of time in Zapata would be apreciated.
Thanks
Kevin

I have a 38' Grand Juction 5th Wheel RV for sale if you are interested in that. I looked at moving it down there but I can't go enough to justify that expense. They have some really nice rv parks down there. Let me know

I know several people that live in Four Seasons Resort in Zapata. It's a trailer home and RV Park very clean, they do have places for sale from time to time.

RV is the way to go. So when you finally get fed up, you can leave.

How do you like it so far?
Are you a part time or full time resident?
Thinking about being a part time resident 6 motnths a year down there.
would like to get a small 3 bed 2 bath house with a garage to keep boat and stuff.
It is five to ten years off till I can retire, but property isnt getting any cheaper so think I need to start looking sometime in the next few years

Wait to buy, because with a few more years of drought people will forget about the lake and the prices will drop. Any of you remember hearing much about it before it filled up? It's always been good fishing (for some) but it hasn't always been GREAT fishing like it's been the last 5 years.
Ehh... Do what you want, it's your money and you can always sell it if it doesn't work out.

I plan on moving to Laredo in the not too distant future, the 35 mile drive seems like a great option to living in Zapata. I just can't see living there and having to eat there for more than a week. Laredo has food, services and medical options that just aren't availible in Z town. I plan to store the boat in Zapata and fish when it's good. I guess the other part of the equation is the bird hunting in the area (webb county etc.) which is my second love. But 6 months in Zapata would do me in.
