This is why I have no use for, or respect for anyone who wears a Tx GW uniform. I have found them all, that I have been associated with, to be smart asses with too much authority and too much inclination to stretch that authority. This one is more of the norm than the exception.

I know I should not tar all of them with the same wide brush, but all of my experience with them demands it. If they want anyones respect they need to earn it.

I don't personally disrespect them when in contact with them on the water or afield, but I don't have to respect them unless they, at least, try to earn it.

If you disagree, OK, we are both entitled to our opinions.

I agree. I'm not going to make some rookie GW's day by giving him a chance to write me a ticket. I don't know of any law that says you can't throw a dead fish in the water. That dead fish in your box is probably worth $500 and with the money grab that TPWD is on, the lake gets a dead fish.

I agree about the GW's having attitudes. I have yet talk to one that didn't act like I kicked his puppy by just approaching him. I walked up to one that was sitting in Cabelas one day and he acted really irritated that I asked a legitimate question. They seem to think everyone with a fishing pole is a poacher

My question would be , Why did the fish die ? I have deep hooked
many fish, If you clip the leader and release them immediatly,
they have a good chance to live. ( I've caught fish with
leaders coming out their anus and a rusty knot where the
hook used to be.)

My GW experiences over the last couple years have been
great.

There is a law about wasting edible fish, but that doesn't apply here.

Its already been said, but I'll repeat it. If the fish is undersized, the law requires that it be released whether it is dead or alive.
