Im heading to Falcon Tomorrow and Planning on taking 16 out of San Antonio instead of 35 to Laredo then south. Anything to be concerned about road or construction wise??

Lots of people go through Laredo because its faster. I like 16 even though it can take longer. Watch out for deer if your driving at night at all.

Id go 35 all the way. I prefer interstate to 2 lane country roads. Much safer and easier drive (coming from "Bacon")!

I went down 77 last year and made good time and gas was cheaper off the interstate. Pretty country also and just a couple of towns. I took off a hr going this route and did not have to go through Waco,Austin,or San Antonio, so that helped a bunch. The traffic down 77 was not bad at all. My new route for sure.

Take 35 then take the loop around Laredo. There is a new loop off that loop that lets you go around all the traffic in Laredo as you get closer to 83. When you get on 83 you have zero traffic to deal with.

No hard feeling my uncle is a Will Co sheriff. I and I am alway busting his chops. No pun intended.

What's the name of the loop? Everytime I go thru there I end up on that crapy one way thru town.

The new Loop is Cuatro Vientos loop which is off Loop 20 and 359. It will get you to Mangana Hein Road and back on to Hwy 83.

I also dislike going through Laredo, even with the Loop. Only time I would do Laredo is between 12-4 am. I prefer 16 if dry, unless its raining. The oil semi rigs have 16 afu. Your boat will be oil-brown if you do 16 with any rain on the road. Watch for bambi on 16 also if riding at night.

Drive at night, hardly any traffic coming through Laredo at 5 am. Take the loop around Austin.

i've never gone down the cuatro vientos way, are there any stops along it?

that would make going through laredo 100x better. because the worst part of driving through laredo is after you pass 359 on bob bullock.
