Have you caught a snake on a fly rod?
Well, if so, come on, write about it.
And as these are snake reports so, lie if you want to.
I caught one, on a yellow popper that never (well almost) touched the water. The snake was coiled at the base of a big cypress. Freaked out a brother. Blanco river. June 2007. No pics, from that great day, just some pants then smelly with pee.
The ONLY reason to fish with a fly rod in Texas is to throw a POPPER, casting any other type fly just means you're doing something.

Can't claim a snake...but I did catch a bat. I guess I'll have to wait for a bat thread.
In this life there is fly fishing and tying...and then there is all that other stuff in between that doesn't matter.

There are a couple water snakes that hang out around one of my favorite spots on Barton Creek and I've casted my popper in their direction to scare them off or see if they'd bite. Nothing yet, but they occasionally look like they they're interested.
