My 1198C has frozen up twice in the last 30 days. Humminbird had to reset it and said corrupt data was causing it. Suggested I load my data card on Humminbird PC and delete waypoints, tracks, etc... that had a "funny looking name". I've deleted all duplicates as well as wp's starting with a space. Nothing else looks "funny" to me. What else should I be looking for?

Also make sure that you have no waypoints with the position like below:

W 00.000.001 N 00.000.000 or it can even be all zeros.

I have a 1197cSI with 6.310.

It has the selection under Navigation to Format Nav Data which will completely reset the Nav directory. Then you must reload and would have to check if corrupted data is not in this reload.

I did have a few wp's with all 0's in the gps coordinates. I deleted those as well. Thanks for all your input, hopefully I've cleared the bad stuff out.

Do you possibly have more WP stored (saved) then what is allowed? You would think this can't happen but this causes my 997 with Interlink to lock up for good. Not sure where your WP are stored when shared with units but just a FYI.
