Growing up, my first fishing rod/reel was given to me by a widowed neighbor down the street, for helping clean her garage out.Husband had died.It was and old zebco 33 and some kind of rod. and a tackle box full of who knows what..
I practiced in the back yard, throwing the thing.
My mom and I would go to the lake about 2 miles away and fish with cane poles.
One day while fishing,I tried with no luck to get a lure by a stump, where that big fish was.I had no luck.
My mom saw my frustration, and said here let me try to get it there for you..First cast she got the lure there perfectly.
I did not know..while I was in school all day, she was practicing with the rod and reel.......
