Thanks to everybody that helped me out on the thread earlier about the TFO Professional rods being on sale at Cabelas.
I have a few more questions that I hope y'all can help me out with. I have scoured the internet to find answers but I'm pretty sure these are all pretty obvious to most people and are not addressed in most articles for beginners.
I bought the Cabela's Prestige Premier II when I bought my rod and have since gotten it all set up with backing and line. I am now realizing that I might have spooled it backwards.
The reel clicks when I pull line out but not when I reel line in. I feel like this should not be the case.
How I have it set:
-the line comes off the spool on the side opposite of the rod. -I reel in with the reel below the rod with my left hand, reeling counterclockwise if viewed looking at me from the left
Any advice on what I might have done wrong? Am I just reeling in the incorrect direction?
Thanks again for all of the help, and sorry for cluttering the board with my beginner questions.

It sounds like you have it set up correctly. Some reels click both directions, but the prestige I have only clicks when line is pulled out of the reel. The line should come out of the bottom of the spool, and if you are looking at the handle side of the reel you would reel counterclockwise. Does it look like the (googled) picture below?
Let us hope that the bass do not find the equivalent of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

Thank you for the reassurance! Mine looks the same as in the picture.
One of my friends found it odd that it didn't click when reeled, so I guess that just got in my head.
On a side note:
I am up in red river now and plan on getting a guide for a day. Any suggestions?
Thanks again!

I like a reel to click when pulling drag and be silent when reeling in, but some click when reeling in.

Dos Amigos anglers in Eagle Nest does guided trips. Another guide I know of off the top of my head is Ed Adams. I'll be up there starting Thursday. I will be fishing the Cimmaron for 3 days. I hope the stonefly hatch is on.

From my understanding, click-and-pawl reels click both ways, disk drag reels do not. Most reels these days are disk drag so I would say you did good.
