Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

Wow what a story and what a fish, can't believe he didn't get an official weight! A potential chance to hold a world record or state record and he'll never know.

Its not about how many fish you catch or how big they are, its about the memories you make catching those fish.

As always, tight lines!

Not everyone is concerned with "records"

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

I would have been with a fish that big but that's just me.

I just moved back to Texas in November from Washington State. There was a guide on the Columbia River who caught a huge Walleye. He pulled a brand new scale out of the package and weighed the fish and was shocked that the scale said 11.5. In order to preserve the fishery, he then released the fish. About an hour later another guide pulled up next to him to show him this huge walleye he had landed. He said the fish weighed over 20 lbs and he pulled it out to show it off. The first guide looked at it and immediately knew his fish was bigger. He asked if he could weigh the fish on his scale and when he did so the scale read around 9.3. Just then he realized that the factory setting was in KG. Doing the math, his walleye weighed over 25lbs and would have been a new WORLD RECORD. The story was featured in both Outdoor Life and Washington Fish & Game.

At least he's still motivated to fish those waters knowing there's a World Record swimming around.

John 21:3 Simon Peter said to them, I am going fishing.

congrats on Great fish!
It will not the last state record to be
cleaned before records looked up...
I had a state record in my freezer
then found out a little too late about
it being a new record....

How many beers did that dude have in him? No way a sober person would not regonize a 14lb difference when lifting a fish. Either that or the guy is Paul Bunyan.

"look! A state record fish...I have to kill it!" - Sorry, I don't get it. I 100% support catch & eatin, but once in a while we need to just let the big ones be. Especially Alligator Gar, as any Gator Gar guide will tell you, a 300lb fish is probably as rare as it gets.

Recent Notables: 40lb Flathead, 30lb Carp, 25lb Buffalo.
