My wife and I caught them at Twin Coves park, not big ones but did catch them.

They seem to be hit or miss for me, can't say I have specifically targeted them though. Have caught a few over the years and most were in the Fall but a couple here and there in the early morning up shallow. Don't think I have caught any over 15" though.

some good ones are starting to show up... Saw one team weigh in two over 2 lbs on the Wednesday night tournament last week, one was closer to 3. I don't think anybody is specifically targeting them though. I have heard of multiple coming out of twin coves and the dam

Try finesse jigs, brown, around larger chunk rock piles in the cleanest water you can find. Also, when you first feel hits it feels like bream because smallies are trying to tear the pinchers off. Learned this growing up in the north fishing regularly for these fish. Wait till it loads up and then sweep set. They are very hit and miss. I catch 1 smallie for every 40 to 50 large mouth I catch. Be patient.
Good luck Brandon.

Found a few in about 12-15ft on a dropoff last week. Caught them on a football jig.

I am seeing them now at each weigh-in this season, and some really nice size smallmouth bass over 2-pounds are becoming more common.

Shakey Heads and finesse jigs! Do not target them bc u will come up empty! They are spreading but still not stacked! I catch one every 8 times I go out and have yet to catch a keeper(14in)

They like to be able to get up and down quickly. The only places that I've been able to catch them consistently are about 2-3ft deep on top dropping into 9ft+ pretty immediately. If you can find some more shelves like this in deeper water it may work too but that's the only places it's worked for me. Also, when you catch one there are more near by.

im at grape vine forshure 3 days a week i get there when it opens at 6am. the best time to fish between 6-10am i leave ther catching at 3-5 LM-bass everytime, if u had a boat or some type of floating tube you would be nailing them all day.

The smallies I have caught never seem to be in a particular area. I've caught 'em on flats, ledges, big rock, pebble rock, etc. I've yet to catch one on a boat slip, though. Size is getting better.....prob caught 8 or so in the last year over 2 lbs. My PB on GV is 2 lbs 7 oz. Seems like they'll show up about ever 7-8 trips.
