Capt. Doug was awesome. We fished with him 2 years ago and caught Red fish, flounder, and a bunch of other different species. It was very windy and could not leave the bay. We were supposed to fish 8 hours but I think he felt bad that we could no leave the bay that we got to fish basically until we said we gave up. I think we ended up fishing about 12 hours. He is definitely a character

Er, uh, I think he is looking for deep sea charter vs bay fishing. Won't be targeting trout, reds or flounder on deep sea charters.

Id go with Deep Sea Headquarters. Ive gone with a few of the others in Port A and DSH blows them all away..Seems like they were around 85.00 or so for the 8hr. trip last year.

Do yourself a favor and avoid the 5 hr "deap sea" trips. I wouldn't do anything less than 8 hr and prefer 12 hr trips.

Being the weekend, it will be harder to charter a boat
for 20- You could call Deep Sea HQ ask about a 8 hour
charter for 20 - they have several boats if they are
not chartered already - Dolphin docks and Fishersman
wharf have boats making trips out - Scat Cat and Wharf
Cat out of Fishermans Wharf both boats have 80+ capacity
and have concession and decent restrooms - I would quickly
try your options on the phone - its snapper season and
some boats might be getting full - fishermans wharf 361 749
5448 - Deep Sea HQ - 361 749 5597 Dolphin docks 361 749 4188
Enjoy you Trip!

Don't waste your time doing a 5 hour offshore trip. Minimum would be 8 hour. 12 hour would be infinitely better.

The 8 hr fishing trip begins when the boat leaves the dock. It returns (arrives) back at the dock in 8 hrs, or very close to it. The 8 hr fishing trip will most likely be more like a 3-4 hr fishing trip, the rest of the time is getting to and from the fishing locations. And, if the fish are not present at the first stop, more time is lost running to the next spot. In essence, travel time is the time spent getting to and from the dock/fishing spots. Actually fishing time is much shorter.
