what is the purpaose of the curvature in the line guides in the second to last pic? The "spiral" wrap is made to take the line from the top of the rod to the bottom, used on baitcasters. This guide placement increases senitivity because the line transmits feel better because it doesn't have to pull down through the frame of the guide like on convential rods. It also uses less guides... A normal 7' rod would take 11 micros, while this wrap only uses 8 micros. Lastly it reduces torque when fighting fish. I hope that makes sense and answers your question. I am a HUGE fan of the spiral wrap in most situations. My guess to the reason it isn't mass produced is it takes a lot of time making sure you have the correct guide placement.
