What do you guys think about having a house on water and fishing with a guide during the day. Breakfast and dinner included. You could fish off the lit dock in evening. What do you think it would be worth a day? Steaks and fajita type meals for dinner.

Lets see ... Guide - $300
Lodging - $75
Meals (2) - $50
Beverages - $25
Lunch/Snacks/water - $25

Conservatively - $475/day
(My best guess)

I don't know of any guide that could make any money at $300 per day... most guides will spend about $100 just in gas.

Then they have to account for an average of $20 in lost lures per day + the drinks/snacks (that you mentioned) another $25.

If it were me (and this is me), I would charge:
$550 for a full day and one night stay and $1000 for two full days and two nights stay.

The food will be top notch Ronnie. Your first meal is on the house. The second will be double price though.

you saying a guide at fork will use 25-30 gallons of gas per day? Is that the boat or truck and boat?

Gas is just one of our biggest expenses Oil is $25 per gallon and that was not added in. I have been using $80-$100 per day for the last few months. I have not been able to set on any fish but having to run all over the lake and hit holes and look for them. Boats get about 3 MPG so it goes fast. Take truck fuel/boat fuel/oil and you will give up $100 per day easy in most cases.

LoL....hey, that's not fair, I'm from Henderson and at first that looked like a great deal. Marc is right about gas. It's high for us in the summer cause we run around like a cat with tape it's paws. Plus a good steak is high, so are fajitas...don't sell yourself short by any means

So do any of you think there is an added value to fish of the dock or bank in the evening? I was thinking I would install green lights to help bring in fish. That is one of my favorite things to do while at the lake. Sit around with an adult drink and bs with buddies and may catch a big fish or some crappie.

That's more off a selling point/added convenience

I agree with Cody, it's one of the "perks". It's a good perk though. A lot of guys staying the night want to fish off the bank
