I found a place today that is full of suckers I actualy reached down and just grabbed one . I threw just about every thing I had with me at them which was just backstabers and scuds but I never hooked up on one. So what do yall use to catch these?

Were they sucking or crusing? They will generally only pick up a fly off the bottom. Bright sunshine they usually take lighter colored wooly buggers. Overcast or prior to sun shining on the water darker crayfish or insect patterns slow stripped in front of them works pretty well.

Suckers like red horse or spotted and be way way more finicky then carp or Buffalo...depends on the fish and where they are I have done pretty good with just a plastic red bead...
