we have never found a rig or wreck or any other structure that holds vermillion or lane snapper. Any one have info that would lead us in the right direction to get on them? Seams more reasonable to go somewhere we could pick up a few of those since we will be targeting snapper this weekend.

It's pretty tough to target Lane Snappers as they are mainly an incidental catch. But I've caught them in close and out deep.

As far as vermillion Snappers go they can be targeted but you have to just come upon the spots that hold them over time on the water. Beeliners are usually caught in 150'+ water. I really don't have any recommendations to help you out.

Lane's Snapper tend to hold higher in the water column than Red Snapper. Run a line down about 2/3 to bottom and then work up until you locate them. Use the same rig/bait as you would for Red Snaps.

I've always heard Beeliners and Lane's Snapper are the same thing.

Bream has it right. Vermillion and Beeliners are one in the same.

Beeliners/Vermillon Snapper are mostly going to be found on
the different rocks off of Port A. Like Baker, Southern, etc
You really need a good fish finder if you want to target them
and look for congrations of fish off the bottom. You will find
good Beeliner fishing is 150 ft plus on the rocks - Once
you find them use smaller circle hooks and little bites of bait- Unless you want to travel longer distances you might
look at catching a easy limit of snapper off a rig 20mile
range - most rock formations are a least 30 miles offshore-
Have a Great time and be safe!

Most likely Mangrove Snapper. Good eats.

Yeah that or lane. They changed colors once they were out of water.

I've never caught lane snapper in close. The closest I've lane snapper was about 20 miles and water was at or around 100 feet in depth.

There are lots of mangrove snapper in the jetties and deeper spots in the bays.
