Hit Waco with my fishing buddy this morning. Got on the water at about 7. Started catching fish at the first brush pile we came to. 1 1/4 Texas Toast slab bandits on a 1/16 oz jig head worked best for us today. Ended the day at 1130 w/ our 50 fish in the boat. Fish were caught from 7 to 16 ft of water off of brush piles. Every pile we hit had some fish on it but most only had a few takers. Every third pile we would run into decent numbers.

Size was down today for us. Probably one of the smaller limits I have ever caught on Waco.

Best I can do on the pic! Taken with a phone to make fun of another buddy that was working today smile

We had some really nice top end fish today (best 7 well over 8 pounds including a 1.75), but didn't get the numbers...just 50 keepers for 4 of us out of 100ish fish caught.

I was telling my partner that we had to get off the same pattern and go find the bigger fish. Numbers are fun but so are the big fish.

We were doing the exact same thing you were...our big fish were on brush in 12-15 feet. We caught our three best on a spot I have never caught one over a pound on.

ZackP, do you have picture of the jig you used? Where did you get it from? I am planning trip to Waco sometime this next week. Thanks

Try looking in 12-20ft in areas that are protected from the south wind. That works on most lakes.
