And I Got the story before channel 4 news did. Grab you some and lets get started. I got to work friday night and one of my coworkers wanted to show me picture on her phone since she knows I like to Crappie fish. After seeing the picture I was out done. NEVER SEEN NOTHING LIKE IT BEFORE IN MY LIFETIME OF 47 YEARS. So I took it upon myself to interview her so I could get all the details first hand. And her story goes like this. Said she got to Lake Bob Sandlin on May 27th about about 9:30 or 10:00 oclock with her dad. She said the water was choppy and there were alot of jet fleas on the water so they decided not to travel too far across the lake. She said they didn't know if they should even try to fish at all. So their decision was to just fish around the bridge colums. While trolling around from colum to colum she said she had got snaged a couple of times. So she reached into her minnow bucket to get another minnow to put on her line and said she pulled a minnow that looked like a little goldfish in color with the reddish orange tint. She said she started talking to the minnow saying, "Aww, your a pretty minnow, you're gonna catch me a fish." After rebaiting and dropping the line in she thought she had got hung up again so she had to stand up. Next thing you know she said to herself "No I'm hung there's a fish on there" as she started reeling it in. Well after successfully landing the fish in the boat' which was a bass tracker they were fishing out of she said they measured the fish to make sure it was big enough. After laying the fish across a gold colored aluminum ruler she said, "Oh yeah that fish is well over 16 1/2 inches easily, throw it in the cooler" Over 16 1/2 inches and you thought you had to measure it? And she said she didn't even straighten it out all the way or pinch the tail closed. Now I'm thinking girl you have a 17 OR 17+ inch crappie on your hands. As I continue interviewing her she said she doesn't get out but maybe a couple of times a year and just likes to go because its relaxing to her. So they continued fishing until they had about fifty fish she says and they called it a day. After getting back to shore and before they started cleaning the fish she said, "Where is my fish? I gotta get a picture of this big mama." And she said normally she doesn't take pictures but this one was SO BIG she just had to get a shot of it. She didn't have any scale at the time to weight it and didn't think nothing of it. After spending the night in the park they got up the next morning and fished again. The game warden remembered them from the previous day and spoke to them and asked how everything was going. They replied, "fine". And thay was all that was said. Said they caught about 30 more fish and were done with this 2 days of fishing and loaded up the boat to head home back to Grand Prairie, Tx. Her name is Tracy Cage and that is the story of her record crappie caught at Lake Bob Sandlin. With her permission I am posting this article for everyone to read and see. And although SHE DID NOT SAY THIS, she said I could say it for her. And that is to all newbees to crappie fishing, all intermediate and advanced crappie anglers, all guides and professional crappie fishermen and women of the world, "I run this show." Bam Now lets hear your comments and your best guess as to what this fish weighted

That is one big fish. I can't guess the weight because I have never caught one near that big. Way to go Tracy!

2.92 Just a bit shy of 3lbs. Looks like a carbon copy of my Wife's fish which was just shy of 3lbs.

Nice fish and a super story. Thanks for sharing. As for the weight I would guess between 2.50 lbs and 3.00 lbs.
