I fish on Grapevine a lot and have a yearly pass. I got a ticket there when I first ran my boat in Texas. I didn't have the necessary equipment. Wasn't carrying my registration card in the boat etc. I went to the south lake courthouse like the Gamey told me to . I showed the receipt for the necessary equipment and paid up timely registration. They wrote the whole thing off. I can't imagine there'll be a problem after they hear your story. Everyone was very nice to me.

I keep a couple envelopes in the Jeep just in case... and always have in anticipation of just that situation.

I always grab extra envelopes and leave them in my glove box. I ran into this situation before. Just so it won't be a hassle for me. Be careful out there. It's an organized crime by the law.

I called the municipal number on the ticket and then they handed me off to TP&W. After that, they sent me to another contact at the lake. I explained the situation and they were very helpful. He said that he would pass my info along to the ticket nazis and try to get it cleared up. He is supposed to contact me by the end of the week and let me know if it is dismissed.

Thanks for all of the feedback/comments.

Sounds crazy but I always pay via a check. pain in the butt to write a $5.00 check but less painful than a $85.00 check. That way if I get a ticket for no pay then when the check clears I have proof they got the money.

I got a call from the Vineyards Camp this morning. They said that they were unable to verify my information and that I would either have to pay the ticket or come in and purchase the annual pass.

What a bunch of bs! What the heck happens to a giant white envelope after they get it out of the box??? I'm at a loss here on what other options I have with these people or this lake. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth after being honest and putting money in the box even though there weren't any envelopes to use. Bunch of crooks.

Write one of the news stations, they love stuff like this and would probably help get a stop to it.

There are probably a number of people on here that knew it would turn out that way.

You can include me in that group Sheldon. As I stated earlier, been there done that... just buy the pass and you wont have to worry about it again till next Jan. If you only go to the lake 10 more times all year that means the ticket only ended up costing you $25-$35 in the long run.

Launch at Murrel Park, they don't charge anything. No ticket problems.
