i bought some of the scorpion 2x venom hooks size#6 and it seems my hook up rate has went down! It seems i connected on more fish with #4 off brand hooks. The fish i have caught on the venoms, the hook wasn't dug very deep and the hook pops out before i even reach down to get it out most of the time.

I use carolina rigs with corn. Are these hooks better with hair rigs or something or is it just a fluke? thanks any opinions !!

We have sold 10's of 1000's of these hooks, and this is the very first semi complaint about them.

They are the first choice hook for 100's of carpers in the US, many of our top level tournament anglers use them exclusively....Ask Richard Somerville from this forum about them.

Even some of the best Paylakers are using them now.

They are the EXACT same hook as sold by several of the worlds leading carp manufacturers/suppliers, in fact I was recently at one of the newest tackle suppliers in Europe, and they will be using this pattern alongside several other patterns made by the same Japanese manufacturer that supplies us.

Not sure whether the Carolina rig is the problem (As I am not sure how they are rigged), but I can assure you that you will struggle to find a better quality, stronger or sharper hook than the Venom 2X......And you will not find this pattern cheaper, anywhere in the world!

I'm not a full time carper, I'm not dogging on your hook just wanting some carp fisherman to chime in. cool

Here ya go. 2 rods- 1st rod 20 lb mono mainline, 2nd rod 65# braided line. Both with 20 lb mono leader about 10-15 inches long. Hook snelled. Rigged with 1.5 oz weights when windy, or half oz weight when theres no wind. Might just be a problem with using braid. Thanks for any input

I heartily endorse the Venoms as well as the Talons.
Great hooks!
