So I got a bit carried away with this one, but once I started uploading pictures I couldn't stop. This morning I caught my first catfish on a fly which was pretty exciting. I really expected to catch nothing at research park, because the water was the color of boneless brown trout. Then magically that descent sized cat on the top left jumped on my clouser. It felt like a monster on my 5 weight. Anyway there is also a shallower continuation of this pont in research park on the side closer to Raymond Stotzer Pkwy, and thats where I picked up this bass, nothin to write home about, but at least there are fish on campus.

The two pictures of the bottom are of trout that our family has been leaving alone for several years now, after fishing about 5 of them out for smoking and such, the heaviest one weighed over 10 lbs. Unfortunately I wasn't able to smuggle my fly rod home for the vacation, so didn't get to land these on the fly but they have got to be the largest rainbow trout I have ever seen. In the second photo up from the bottom you can see the size of your average sized trout and how small it is in comparison. These rainbows on the bottom remind me of the monster caught in a river runs through it, that looked more like a sockeye salmon in the movie.

Anyway just thought I'd share it all.

Congratulations on finding somewhere to fling a fly in the BCS. That's not an easy thing to do.

I've heard that research park can be decent at times. I haven't been yet but plan on checking it out when I get back in July or August.

Have you tried behind Bush Library?

I did fish back there behind George's (Bush, not Glazener) place once about two years ago. I wasn't impressed with the numbers or size of fish, but the grass was nicely trimmed.

Thanks for the votes of confidence. Agreed finding places to fly fish is a pain in the rear. Once you get to where you're going the scenery is nothing to write home about either. As far as bush pond goes it seems to me you can fish artificial anything out there all day long and completely waste your time... It looks all pretty and what not even gets your hopes up until you drop your fly or lure in and realize visibility is 6 inches.

2000svt, let's hit up some fishin when I get back from Alaska. I'll be there till august commercial fishing. I'll pm you after that.
